iMessage not working

My iMessage isn't working so I turned my iPad on and of but nothing has happened, my iMessage has worked for months till now. I have also tried to reset a different apple ID but it comes up with the same error and says that my username or password is incorrect but its not as I have also tried to reset my password any suggestions?
